So what I meant is that no one else will do this for you, you are anonymous. We must act in ways we are able
Well anyone can be anonymous it’s about the idea not some kind of elite hermetic group, it’s all of us and only we (the people) can save ourselves from the authoritarians
Hey hey hey do not associate adhd peeps with that thug, that’s offensive
Yeah and better, I didn’t feel like putting the work. Great words right there.
Humanity fucking rocks, lets shoot some shit
I hate anime but I enjoyed mad max fury road. It lets you appreciate innate insanity of surviving as a human that’s only temporarily suppressed by advanced civilization goodies. 9 meals away my friend, 9 meals away
Humans are fundamentally crazy and I love it. We detonate massive amounts of explosives in the sky once a year?? for some reason, just cause we can. 12:00 at new years eve is the essence of humanity. Louder, brighter, higher, make it visible from the cosmos
We invented nukes for some reason which crazily is a fundament of global peace. WTF
There are no crazier motherfuckers in Milky Way I bet my car on that
yeah blah blah blah but honestly… we are humans, we do crazy shit daily like driving 200 kph in a metal can while blasting rave or metal music. If something goes out in flames just say that new years eve came in early - if you are still alive. Life isn’t for the faint of heart for sure
I mean if they want to use it despite being told the state of things then who cares? There’s nothing to win here, it’s their pc
I couldn’t care less if someone on the internet sabotages their files because they want to be right 100% of time
Even in some niche things, it seems like people have lost their minds. I like AI and predicting future science and world developments, but honestly, there is not one subreddit where people can just calmly discuss stuff and share news about it all without being just… strange. I want to read commentary like this https://darioamodei.com/machines-of-loving-grace not “You stupid moron xyz I am right, so much superior is my opinion” or “bow your heads to great technosingularity that will fix my shitty life”, “the DOOM is coming”. I want a platform where there is something worthwhile to read.
I don’t expect everyone to write essays under the news, but nobody is even trying to compose something interesting— some kind of thoughts they have— that maybe they want to share with us. It’s mostly just karma popularity contest everywhere, and that’s tiresome on the eyes.
I don’t know if Reddit will end, however, it has become increasingly unusable. I just want tech news and light discussion of them, but I get so much more ‘extras’ I never signed up for.
I am not super good at text communication with strangers online in non native language, I am afraid we will not understand each other properly this time
As I said I am glad they do that instead of some other things that often fly in the space where we don’t care about the morals at all. Those places are tiresome and draining much more than some random philosophy post. Good, if they think about those things that means they are human. Someone who no longer cares about anything what they do and its effects and consequences is truly lost and more like an animal than a human.
It’s good because otherwise we would have only shady characters and kids and that would be even more annoying to read. We have this illusion of doing something right, part of some greater philosophical stance and thanks to it you can read the comments without digging through slurs. The piracy forums are usually very hard on the eyes.
When I used to be interested in hardware I would buy it with half of the top of the line money, the rest invest it in some fund and then buy an upgrade in two years with that investment. Or at least that used to be the case when GPU and all the components had a tendency to become a fancy vintage museums after 2 years. You would be laughed at if you said something about future proofing.
I miss that.
How would ISP ever knew what their clients do if they use proxy or vpn? I assume it was not the case here?
They don’t make money out of copyright and are a person not corporation.
In my private ethical code this is valid.
I want to utilise my old rasp pi and/or 10400f “old” matx pc with all parts. I need some kind of central home server for storage, jellyfin, seeding torrents and some other self hosted cool things but I am still figuring out where to physically put it even and what kind of case and too many decisions left me paralysed to be honest. As I also want it to look cool. Maybe I will just try to score some used server. In other words I want to do everything and so I don’t really have anything yet but some day it will kick in and I will do it in two days probably
If only I had disk space but between 500 GB Skyrim VR and 500 GB msfs and few other such things my measly 5tb space is crowded.
And the problem with these big modded games is that once you uninstall it it is very time consuming to reproduce same result. Modded Skyrim VR for example modlist was long ago abandoned for something much smaller because it was impossible to maintain by the author.
I need to buy some kind of oversized HDD and store such modded games maybe packing them with some kind of installer. It would be nice to rent cloud space for kind of custom steam for modded games.
I remember when 1tb was like a lot and nowadays I have like 20 of such disks around the house and still drowning in data, maybe because of around 15 tb of family photos and videos.
So with all that I feel like I have only 100gb for permanent seeding because that space goes first I guess. I am so drowning in data. Even have 4 old phones waiting perpetually for recovering data maybe it is gone already actually f knows. I think I need at some point to buy 50 tb drive for 1500 or so. Painful purchase but like I don’t see any other way
And so it begins. I’ve been waiting for this and it is a bit surreal to see it happen live exactly as predicted. the collapse of the internet as we know it and its return to niche ‘underground’ roots of decentralised small rooms
