Sounds a lot like, “Biden & Harris support genocide, so let’s vote for Trump.”
Obese gray male, introverted, cranky, woke but needs a nap. Enjoys solitude, old movies, long bus rides, and a good bowel movement.

Google is awful, but any other company that could afford to buy and run Chrome would be worse.
(: Man, the things I learn from smart folks on Lemmy…
Hello, old timer! Pretty sure it was just plain Netscape when I installed it (not yet called Navigator), but I’d never heard of it as Phoenix. It has served me well for 30 years across a dozen computers, but now it might be time to move on.
That does look intriguing, especially if being a Firefox fork means I can bring my familiar add-ons along. Thank you!
Very, very long-time Firefox user here, now open to suggestions for a replacement. Windows, desktop, and it absolutely must have adblocker capabilities.
I’ve been using Firefox since it was Netscape, and I’m ‘concerned’ but not going anywhere yet.
I read the article but still don’t understand what this means:
You give Mozilla all rights necessary to operate Firefox, including processing data as we describe in the Firefox Privacy Notice, as well as acting on your behalf to help you navigate the internet.
When you upload or input information through Firefox, you hereby grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that information to help you navigate, experience, and interact with online content as you indicate with your use of Firefox.
I’ve seen corporate mission statements that were clearer.
Harshly said, but correct. A one-day change in spending is piffle. Anyone participating in this is participating in piffle. Make a serious, long-term change in your spending patterns and it might, arguably, add up to something, but this is … I don’t even know what this is, but I’m not doing it.
Agreed. There’s the tech to do it, so they do it. Not a moment’s thought to whether it makes the info less accessible.
Factcheck: Everyone hasn’t told @iriyan@lemmy.ml that they’re flat out wrong about TV ads. I haven’t had my turn yet.
@iriyan@lemmy.ml, you are flat out wrong about TV ads for alcoholic beverages in the USA. I’m cheerfully hoisting an adult beverage soon as I’ve posted this, “as seen on TV.”
The Pope is right like a stopped watch, and you know what else is incompatible with Christianity and conscience? The Catholic Church.
You know, there’s a lot going on in the world, and for me, it’s hard giving a damn about people who’ve decided JPMorganChase is the career they want.
Dude doesn’t quite connect the dots. The government — under Biden — had a deal to save his farm. The government — under Trump — is changing all the rules, reneging on the contract. If all he groks from this is “government bad,” then game over. Except it’s not a game.
The Anti-Defamation League, a US-based pro-Israeli group which monitors anti-Semitism and hate speech, has described Musk’s gesture as “awkward” but did not say it was a Nazi salute.
That’s a bit of bullshit. The ADL said specifically that it was NOT a Nazi salute. Which is the end of the ADL, for me. They’re simply not credible as alleged opponents of anti-Semitism.
Pretty sure I agree with the gist of this, and it’s welcome. My corner is small anyway, with not a lot of trolls and troublemakers, and I hope I’m already in line with this policy.
Well, unless I’m one of the mods who’ll “receive an immediate notice with a link to this new policy.”
the very real possibility of police shutting them down
Has this “very real possibility” happened to any social media platform in America?
I am not annoyed by Lemmy’s constant glitches. It adds to the charm of the place.
Lemmy is a volunteer effort. You want everything to run corporate-smooth, that’s ‘X’ and TikTok and Reddit.
I can’t even get past the user interface at Discord. Rarely have I felt so uninvited to participate, even as the site aggressively invites me to participate.
Stop saying ‘detained’. The word is imprisoned.
