+1 for proxmox, I now have two nodes since I started the homelab journey a few months ago lol
You point either your dns on the router to it, set it as the DHCP server (that’s what I had to do as my modem/router from att didn’t support dns change) or point your devices to it manually in their individual settings, which works if you only use them on that network or have it accessible on the net.
If you’re serious about a homelab, there’s a ton of info online, I highly recommend learning docker through Linux if you’re not already familiar with it, makes self hosting service a lot easier in most cases. I actually run Adguard home specifically in an LXC container in one of my proxmox nodes “bare metal”, however you can use docker for it as well, just was easier for me to not deal with port overlap
I use qbittorent through Mullvad using Gluetun as qbt is running in docker.
DHT and PEX don’t seem to work though, I did brief research and it seemed related to mullvad no longer allowing port forwarding? I don’t know enough about how it works but I tried messing with it for several hours a couple days ago to no avail, only trackers appear to work for connecting to other peers.
On a headless Ubuntu LXC running in proxmox, I just access the qbt interface via its Web portal.
How did you get your nextcloud AI workers to actually function in docker? Im not using the AIO image and I attempted to edit the systemd script provided in the docs but it fails :/ manually running the do command that I modified works until it runs out of time
VaultWarden, selfhost bitwarden server
No thoughts on privacy, but I have been using Vivaldi for many years now and it’s good. Pretty customizable if that’s your thing.
Read the description in fdroid lol
Didn’t they spin off or something from mozzilla recently?
The question behind the question
I would be more surprised if 12% of “tech workers” know what Linux is at all.
Fwiw: I work in a call center as basically a more knowledgeable tech for our client facing team to rely on for help and only about 1% of them have any familiarity with Linux in the slightest.
I wonder about the framing of this question, like another comment mentioned, it’s kinda like evolution where MacOS and Linux have a common ancestor, I could see the wording throwing people off.
“Is MacOS based on linux” seems to be the wording used?
I’d bet less would fall for, “Is MacOS a Linux distribution?”
Edit: Ha some people in the comments had similar thoughts, in addition to Linux and Unix being nearly synonymous to all but those who are very into that kind of thing.
Edit again, if anyone else is curious https://youtu.be/jowCUo_UGts?si=3nSGWhispI7Vcfgm
You don’t have to pay to use it
Memos might work, I had it running for a week or two and it works well, very Google Keep like if that’s what you’re after. Edit woops, forgot the link lol https://github.com/usememos/memos
My guess would be internal networking issue preventing the two from talking
If you’re on Android, might be able to speed it up by adjusting your overall animation speeds.
The website has one of those cringe nft monkeys, but otherwise the site looks good
Idk what bdfl stands for, but the first thought was big daddy fuck lord

I ran into issues with this function on my shield pro, it would randomly reopen the smart tube app continuously until I disconnected my phone.
I use my previous desktop and a rando openbox thinclient I picked up at Bestbuy for like $250 in a proxmox cluster. The desktop does the heavy lifting on stuff like jellyfin transcoding, immich ML, or just general fucking about with things that require a more powerful GPU (got a 3080ti in there)
The thinclient handles all the lighter stuff that needs to be constantly available, like my traefik instance, dns/dhcp server, etc
