Mike Duncan is fire! I really enjoyed all of it. But his “revolutions” podcast on early modern england was really interesting.
I particularly enjoyed an episode (later on in the French revolution) that talked about the Paris fish wives march on the Bastille.

Mint. It’s not sexy. But it always just works. Never had an update break anything. I’ve got an Nvidia card, which ppl said was notorious for not working with Linux, it just works. The installer just reached out and grabbed the appropriate drivers, so easy. Have yet to have a steam game not work.
10/10 would recommend for anyone.
Temp control would be at the top of my list. I don’t handle heat well. I think I’m evolutionary primed to chase other mammals across vast frozen tundra. Summers are tough and getting tougher.

I haven’t owned a personal auto in a decade, and doubt I ever will again. The more you eschew our auto centric way of being, the more ridiculous it will look. When I see people in traffic now all I can think of is how fat, angry, miserable and lazy your passing motorists will look.

Deep impact is a great movie! Directed by Mimi Leder. She also directed The Peacemaker, a great 90’s adventure movie with George Clooney and Nichole Kidman. If you’re into that sort of thing.
I never got the dune hype either, book or movie. The latest was fun to watch on the big screen, and the 80’s make is awesomely 80’s in all its 80’s terribleness. But over all it gets a meh from me. And I’m a huge SF nerd.

I run mint on my “home entertainment center”. Just an old laptop with a wireless mouse and keyboard.
Granted I don’t use it for much, but once I had mint on it, I’ve only used the desktop environment. Mostly because I’m leaning back in a slothful, shameful lump, and this is not conducive to typing. So I spend way too long pecking at things with the mouse.
Pain in the ass? Yes.
Way more tedious and time consuming? Yes
Possible? Also yes
I just switched using mint as my new OS. It was so easy. My computer runs so much quicker now. All my steam games just work. Feel free to DM me if you need any pointers!
Unless it was some third party testing it out for no other reason than a large crowd presented itself. Or a third party who just wants to fan the flames. Maybe both. I probably read too many spy novels.
