  • Archive.org, Wikipedia, Signal, Mozilla (I feel the same as you), and a bunch of patreons for artists.

  • I quit cold turkey about 5 months ago after smoking for a decade. Might start again, might not. I still get cravings. If I do start again I’m going to make myself learn to roll them by hand instead of buying packs so that it’s cheaper and takes more conscious effort.

  • Edit - I misread “alt” as “ai” and it colored my interpretation of the article. I still don’t like generative AI and I am in favor of manually writing alt text when possible but this is probably one of the rare cases where AI can actually be used for good.

Original comment - I wish Mozilla would quit trying to chase AI. I just want a browser that works properly and respects my privacy. I gave them a monthly donation for years but I stopped when they started announcing AI shit.

  • This is actually a popular misconception. MLK was just as radical as Malcolm X, it’s just that his more radical writings and speeches are not as popular or quoted. Libs and conservatives both want you to believe that MLK was a reasonable progressive liberal, when in fact he despised them. I say this as a huge fan of both MLK and Malcolm X, and I had this explained to me initially by a professor of African American history at university.
