Dart/Flutter allows for compiling native apps and allows for better device access.
I would not recommend react-native. I would recommened Tauri instead but Tauri does not compile apps for Android and iOS currently but has this on its roadmap.

XMPP is more lightweight but way more clunky. I think Matrix is better since all the features are built in and is having more development, more users and more clients on multiple operating systems.
I always recommend multi-hop as it increases your privacy. And as long you choose the two servers to be nearby each other and not halfway across the world, you will not notice any difference in your connection.

Aliases are always recommended over your main email address.
You can have a few email addresses (1 protonmail for personal stuff, 1 protonmail for anonymous/private accounts, etc) and then have a alias account for your personal email and an alias account for your anonymous/private email, etc. This way if the alias service you use gets comprimised, it will not link your personal accounts to your private/anonymous accounts.
We need more people on lemmy from all different backgrounds to balance these debates out. Defederation may still occur, but the majority will not be a bunch of radical lefties.

And personally most distros will do since linux is secure over all. I like Linux Mint personally and is good for programming and generic use.

If I was rich, I would avoid countries with high taxes and countries that target the rich since why the fuck would you as a rich guy live in a country that robs you with joy?
