POV: You’re 12 years old and your family is sleeping on the grass outside, because it’s just too hot inside.

Not trying to one-up, just having a bit of fun

Yeah lol never lived in a house big enough to have a hallway, let alone across multiple floors.

It’s okay, tbh I don’t think you’re missing out. My experience is that they’re usually badly maintained if they’re maintained at all (last time I looked at a hotel pool it was green and growing algae). The “swimmable” hotel pools are only found at really, really nice hotels.

Why do they even bother installing pools in hotels if they’re not going to maintain them? What a waste of space.

Wow, I can immediately see how that would be so much worse. Thank the gods that I was born after cigarettes started to be banned in public areas.

Yea, I was born in 90 so I didn’t even have it as bad as people born before that. In the 90s so many places let you smoke inside, so a ton of stuff smelled like musty old cigarettes lol.

As a child of the 80s and former smoker, I actually find the lingering smell of cigarettes in a smoking room super comforting, to the point that if a hotel has a smoking room option I take it.

Thank you for making this comment. I was feeling a little twinge of loss at this apparently relatable moment that we never had.

Yeah this ain’t relatable at all. The only time ever spent a night in a hotel with a family member was when my dad chaperoned a school trip.

The ac was always ice cold in those halls. I miss it but I wont do hotel pools anymore.

You mean this gives off a pink floyd vibe right?

This isn’t a reference to a really existing obscure song?

I am scared i have now lost my opportunity to shine with my obsession of obscure Pink Floyd tracks by not knowing what song you refer too.

Yep, some of their songs are quite narrative, often talk about their experience, and maybe Pink Floyd just lives rent free in some part of my head so I just randomly associated it.

I can absolutely hear the bottom text as if it was a lyric from wish you were here.

          Got any rare favorites?

I find myself quite drawn to the alternate tracks from around the time of ummagama these days. Some versions of the narrow way part III being a particular favorite.

There is also a live album post dark side where they play songs that appear to be proto-animals but have the music of wish you were here.

A great addition to any collection i dont think its on Spotify.

If it is an actual reference it is either incredibly obscure or I have missed something and would like to know what it references.

Either way I know what to listen to the next couple of days.
